MIDIPoet

In its current version, (which was released in 2002) MIDIPoet consists of two applications: MIDIPoet Composer and MIDIPoet Player. As their names suggest, Composer contains a set of tools for creating MIDIPoet pieces, and Player performs them. The MIDIPoet environment has its own programming language, made up from relatively complex text commands. In order to make things easier, (and allow other people to approach the tool with realtively little pain) MIDIPoet Composer offers a visual way of creating MIDIPoet pieces, so there is no need to write code. MIDIPoet itself was written in a combination of C++ and Visual Basic, and only runs under Windows.
MIDIPoet es una herramienta de software que permite la manipulación en tiempo real de texto e imágen en la pantalla del ordenador. Esta formada por dos programn los cuales se puede, respectivamente, componer e interpretar piezas de texto y/o imagen manipulable. Estas piezas pueden o no responder a impulsos externos, tales como mensajes MIDI o el teclado del ordenador, y generar manifestaciones visuales que involucran la manipulación de los diferentes atributos del texto (contenido, tipo de letra, posición, tamaño, etc), la imagen (contenido, posición, etc) y otros elementos y efectos visuales. Conceptualmente, MIDIPoet se basa en la noción de campo de eventos, que consiste en un conjunto de comportamientos potenciales de los elementos visuales en pantalla, que suceden o no dependiendo de condiciones internas o de manipulaciones externas.
